Event Details

We are pleased to invite you to the NYC Entrepreneurs June Feedback Forum. We'll be meeting in midtown on Monday, June 25th from 7-9PM. Our special guest is Scott Jeffrey, who founded Lincoln Voters in May 2005, a software startup with two launched applications. The flagship product is a voter database management application geared to petitioning and Get-Out-The-Vote drives for political campaigns. It was used successfully by over a dozen clients, including the winning campaigns of Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal, Assemblymember Brian Kavanagh, and Civil Court Judge Shari Michels. Lincoln released its second product at the end of 2006, repurposing the original application to manage voter registration and PAC registration for labor unions. Scott is looking for funding and wondering how best to position the value he's built with Lincoln Voters, in his words: "I’m going in two directions right now. The labor union product is being tied into store audits. This is a strategic shift to get into administration where there is more money that for political activities. My strength is combining a simple, routine procedure (store audits) with a specialty product (voter reg). The problem I’m having is that I’m looking for funding but Lincoln is in a middle ground between business and philanthropy. I would be a Social Entrepreneur but politics is too dirty for people looking to invest in the environment, education, health, etc. even with my “I get youth to vote” angle." Our host this month is Jeff Frese, and the cost is $5 per person to cover the food and beer. You must RSVP in order to get on the doorman's list. Address: 360 W 43rd St @ 9th Avenue Nearest subway stops: 42nd St Times Sq A,C,E,1,2,3,7,N,R,Q,W... oh and the S from Grand Central, so if you're on the 4,5,6 or Metro-North you can come too. :o) I hope you'll join us to brainstorm with Scott on fundraising strategies and the future of Lincoln Voters. See you on the 25th! Jonah Keegan m:347-813-0927 Jeffrey is a 38-year-old software developer and native New Yorker. He grew up in Park Slope, Brooklyn and attended Midwood High School, a magnet public school in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. He graduated from Princeton University, class of 1989, with a Bachelor's Degree in Astrophysics, and moved to the Upper West Side of Manhattan. Jeffrey never forgot his roots and never sold out to corporate America. He refuses to drug test, sacrificing many career opportunities to free his voice to speak the truth. Jeffrey founded Legalize.com in 1996 and was an early pioneer of Web activism. He works to legalize marijuana, same-sex marriage, and nightlife (in NYC it is illegal to smoke or to dance in bars). He seeks to empower youth by grooming a new generation of leadership to provide young Americans their own voice in politics. Jeffrey was the Libertarian candidate for Governor of New York in 2002 and participated in two televised debates with then Gov. George Pataki.
